The right size is only part of the story.
We check the bag’s size and your fare’s baggage allowance separately.
Every side matters, not just their sum.
A basic fare may exclude a cabin suitcase.
One bag. Five size limits.
Compare dimensions and known weight limits. Ticket fares and add-ons are not compared in this table.
The rules, airline by airline.
Dimensions, fares and sources in straightforward guides.
A few checks. A better departure.
Short answers to the questions that actually affect your preparation.
Do wheels and handles count?
Yes. Measure the bag packed and closed at its outermost points. Bulging pockets and protruding wheels count too.
Can a slightly oversized soft bag still fit?
The calculator uses the dimensions you enter. Potential compression is not permission: measure the bag as you will carry it and check the airline’s sizer.
Why isn’t the sum of the sides enough?
The cited cabin-bag rules limit each dimension. A long, narrow bag can have the right total while still exceeding one side of the sizer.
Why isn’t a weight limit always shown?
Some webpages give no numeric limit and instead require you to lift the bag unassisted. A missing figure means neither zero kilograms nor unlimited weight.
Can I use this for a connecting journey?
Check every operating carrier and the allowance for your whole booking. The table compares bag sizes without applying one airline’s fare to another airline.
Does a compatible result guarantee the bag stays in the cabin?
No. The physical sizer, applicable ticket rules and onboard space still matter. An airline may require gate-checking even when the dimensions fit.
