Rules we check. Answers you can use.
Our sources, review process and corrections.
What we check
Dimensions, weight and ticket allowance are checked separately. References come from the airlines. Results also depend on the fare, route and add-ons you provide; we do not access your reservation.

Our review routine
- Automatic checks of monitored passages and current tariff links every six hours, on the hosting server and through an independent relay. No personal computer is needed.
- Review the relevant rules against stored values. A reachable page alone does not confirm a rule.
- Check results in English, French and on mobile before publishing a change.
A changed source pauses the affected conclusion until it is reviewed. Inaccessible sources are flagged; after 48 hours without a successful check or documented review, affected conclusions are paused. If no full job completes for 30 hours, all conclusions are paused.
Protected Porter and Flair pages are also checked through a public reader without using its cached copy. A protection page or incomplete passage never counts as a successful check. No traveller information is sent to that service.
Each guide has its own human review date. The last automatic check appears separately and does not renew that date. A rule remains usable beyond seven days when every essential reference is checked and still matches the approved text. A new human review is needed when a source changes, becomes unverifiable or has never been baselined. Unconfirmed rules remain labelled; missing data is never filled in with a guess.
When sources differ
We look for an explicit priority rule in current documents. If it does not resolve the difference, the affected conclusion is paused. Calculated conversions are never described as airline-published values.
October 30, 2026 corrections
- Air Canada: removed an unnecessary rounding alert. A 55 × 40 × 23 cm bag meets the published centimetre limits.
- WestJet: 15 cm depth confirmed in the domestic and international tariffs currently linked by WestJet. Their priority rule resolves the difference with a website paragraph.
- Flair: removed old tariff inch dimensions. Current cm and kg/lb values come from the current baggage page; calculated inches are labelled.
- Porter: 9 kg / 20 lb per item confirmed in all three current tariffs. For Standard outside Canada/Europe/Africa and Basic to Europe/Africa, sources disagree: the tool asks what the booking says and clearly identifies that answer as the traveller’s declaration.
- Display-unit switches preserve the original measurement unit. Results stop if server rule status is unavailable.
